Karnataka

Karnataka is a state in the south west region of India and it was also called the state of Mysore in the earlier times. The capital city of this state is called Bangalore. The city of Bangalore is also referred as the IT city and is also the place where some of the leading companies of the world exist. By area, the state of Karnataka is the seventh largest in India. The state has high significance when it comes to the natural beauty and heritage. This is the state famous for black cotton. One can visit the heritage city of Mysore from Bangalore and this is also famous for the Mysore palace. It is an amazing piece of architecture and is quite famous among the domestic and the international tourists. The history of Karanataka dates back to the Palaeolithic era and it s said that there were contacts of the state with the Indus valley civilization in the ancient times becuse of the gold import. Among the heritage sites of Karnataka, one can find the temple of Kashi Vishvanatha during the period of Chalukya Empire. This is in the list of the UNESCO world heritage sites. There is also a statue of Ugranarasimha located in Hampi and this is also in the list of UNESCO world heritage sites. From the city of Mysore, one can also move to the place called Srirangapatnam. This is the place inked to the famous warrior Tipu Sultan. One can fin d the summer palace of the legendary warrior also known as lion of Mysore. In Belur, one can find the famous Chenakeshwa temple and this is the classic example of Hoysala workmanship.
